IEI Jammu Centre celebrates World Engineering Day

JAMMU, Mar 4: The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Centre celebrated World Engineering Day today at Institutional Complex, Channi Himmat, here by holding a seminar on theme “Sustainable Development”.
The seminar was attended by a large number of engineers from various departments and organizations besides retirees.
BB Sharma, former Chief Engineer, J&K Govt and former Chairman, Jammu Centre was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was presided over by Ajay Gupta, former Chairman, Jammu Centre.
Three keynote speakers namely Ishan Verma, PK Nanda, and Anil Verma, delivered their lectures on the sustainable development. The speakers touched various issues which are imperative for the engineers, planners, policy makers and public at large to adopt for sustenance of technological developments in all spheres of life without depletion of natural resources available.
Ishan Verma suggested some points as a private entrepreneur to make the technological developments sustainable, replicable and scalable. Anil Verma spoke about the role of citizens for sustenance of development and highlighted various pressing issues of Jammu city.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of these speakers in enlightening the audience and complimented the Executive Committee of Jammu Centre for celebrating World Engineering Day in a befitting manner.
CP Sharma, honorary secretary conducted the proceedings of the seminar and presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.
