JAMMU, Mar 1: Mushtaq Kak, the senior Theatre Director and renowned Bollywood film personality has concluded his whirlwind tour with three stage productions presented by him pan India.
After successful presentation of Sameul Beckett’s “End Game” in recently concluded Nutan International Theatre Festival 2020, Mushtaq Kak, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee moved ahead with his presentation, Lamhon ki Mulakat showcased at 15th Winter National Theatre Festival, organised by Theatre for Theatre, Chandigarh on February 18.
While End Game was the representative example of Theatre of Absurd, and emerged as a corollary to the existentialism believed that life was absurd beyond human rationality, meaningless, ‘Lamhon ki Mulaqat’ was assortment of two short stories viz Poore Chand ki Raat and Shehzada written by renowned playwright Krishan Chander of Poonch whose Urdu renditions in short stories and novels matched the acumen of stalwarts in the field of Urdu writing nationwide.
The third in series ‘Ish Malangi’ presented at Minerva International Theatre festival, was based on Khalid Hussain stories and dramatized by Pritam Katoch portrayed the tale of true and unconditional love during the era of 1940s when Jammu city was a small town with a red light area called as Urdu Bazar having few houses which were known as Kothas and frequented by the affluent sections of society for their entertainment through music and dance.
Rolling his theatre endeavours, Mushtaq’s Lamhon Ki Mulakat opens once again at Virsa Vihar , Amritsar under Nutan International Theatre Festival in its second leg.
Kak has directed more than 100 plays in Dogri, Hindi, English and Sanskrit in various parts of country and abroad stated that Ishq Malangi has already been staged at Mysore Theatre Festival and acclaimed as one of the outstanding presentations of Amateur Theatre Group.
