NHM employees’ deputation meets MoS Home

JAMMU, Feb 28: A deputation of All JK NHM Employees Association headed by its president and media incharge of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh J&K, Rohit Seth met with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Krishan Reddy at his residence in New Delhi and submitted a charter of demands.
During the 45-minutes-long meeting with the Minister, the deputation apprised him of various problems and demands of NHM employees working in J&K. The demands including regularization of all categories of NHM employees with wage grade similar to their counter parts in the Health Departments, enhancement of salary of the NHM staff of UT of J&K to make it at par with NHM staff of Delhi and Haryana.
They also projected other demands such as grant of leave benefits of NHM staff as per agreement arrived, release of salary of for the agitation/termination period as agreed upon during negotiations and to immediately stop unnecessarily harassment of NHM employees.
Seth said that the Government had set up two different committees in 2017 and 2018 to examine the genuine demands of NHM employees but till date the concerned department has failed in putting up their case.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that he will try to resolve their issues.
Dr Raman Sharma (general secretary, All JK NHM Employees Association), Mohit Seth (vice president) and Mukesh Singh (secretary, Jammu district) were also part of the deputation.
