JAMMU, Feb 22: Youth Congress (YC) today staged a protest over the hike in LPG price and anti-youth policy of the BJP Govt at the Centre.
Led by Rahul Tandon, District president Jammu Urban, J&K Youth Congress, the activists assembled near Press Club Jammu today and raised slogans against the anti-people policies of BJP Government.

The protesters demanded that the Government should rollback the LPG cylinder price hike.Talking to reporters here, Tandon said “BJP is trying to take revenge for the defeat in the recently held Delhi elections. Just because people did not vote in BJP’s favour, they are punishing them by increasing the LPG price.”
Another youth leader Avjot Singh said this decision is cruel and harsh against poor and also shows anti-poor mindset of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
PYC chief spokesperson Vishal Chopra said Youth Congress demanded that the hike be rolled back and accused the Union Government of electrocuting household budget. He emphasized that increasing Rs 149 is unethical. “The current Government has increased the price of LPG. This will directly affect the lower section of the society. This has to be taken back,” Chopra demanded.
Tandon said that BJP which claims to be the champion of Jammu people has betrayed the mandate of the people by taking U-turn on all vital commitments made with the people here, especially Jammu region during elections.
“Except pursuing anti-people policies, the BJP Government at the Centre has bade farewell to development and governance,” Tandon added.
Among those who joined the protest included- Daviyansh Jamwal, Barinder Partap, Jagjoot Singh, Nisha Sharma, Abhishek Kapoor, Amir Khan, AS Chopra, Atul Dogra, Vishal Sharma and others.
