JAMMU, Feb 9: The month -long activities during the auspicious Magh Mass concluded in various ashrams on the occasion of Puranmashi (full Moon day) today with Solemnization of Maha Yagyas.
Large number of devotees drawn from various parts of Jammu thronged these Ashrams during the entire month to participate in religious activities.
A Maha Yagya was performed at Geeta Satsangh Ashram, TRT Muthi under the supervision of Swami Kumar Ji . The Puranahuti was performed in the afternoon which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees. Earlier daily satsang was held in the Ashram in which Swami Ji and other scholars gave discourses highlighting the religious significance of the holy month. The significance of holy Bhagwat Geeta and Srimad Maha Bhagwat were also highlighted.
Swami Ji threw light on Kaw Purnima and its religious significance. He stressed that this old age culture should be preserved for posterity also. The function was attended by large number of saints and devotees. On the occasion, Paat Sangrah Number 2 compiled by Geeta Satsang Ashram for devotees was also released by Swami Kumar Ji, BJP general secretary, (Org) Ashok Kaul, Moti Kaul a senior KP leader, Ashok Kangan, Dr Susheel Watal , Arjan Nath Hangloo, M K Yogi and poet Brij Hali.
The month-long spiritual activity also concluded at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaywala, Bohri, here. The activity started on January 11 and culminated with Puranahuti on the occasion of Kaw Purnima today. The religious activity was held from 4-45 am to 7-30 am daily in the Ashram in which hundreds of devotees took part with devotion to receive the blessings and grace of Bhagawaanji.
The Ashram in a handout issued here said that prior to the mass exodus of Pandits they used to circumambulate the Hari Parbhat hillock-the abode of Mata Chakreshwari during the holy month of Magh and now they throng Bhagawaan Gopinath Ashram with the same reverence and pay the obeisance at the feet of the Master.
During the month one and half crore Vedic mantras were recited for the welfare of mankind. Besides, Shlokas from Mahimnapaar , Guru Geeta, Panchastavi, Maga Malla, Bhagvadgita were also recited and Homa was conducted daily to upheld the cultural heritage.
Such programmes were also held at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashrams and Sat Mandals across the country on regular basis.
The Maha Yagya was also performed at Shiv temple at Anuradha Puram Sector 2 where hundreds of devotees were served parashad after Puranhuti. The hawans on the occasion of Kaw Purnima were performed at Bantalab and other places also.
