Govt releases Rs 22.45 cr to pay honorarium of Anganwadi workers, helpers

JAMMU, Mar 26: The Government today released Rs.22.45 crore for meeting the requirement of funds on account of salary/honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers.
This was Stated by the Minister for Social Welfare Department, Sakina Itoo today at a high level review meeting of the department.
Pertinent to mention  here that the issue regarding delay in the release of honorarium to Anganwadi workers and helpers was raised in the Assembly at  a number of times  during the budget session and the Minister had assured on the floor of the House that She will make every possible effort to persuade Central Government for early release of funds. Due to personal efforts of the Minister, the funds were released by the Central Government
Meanwhile, the Minister has issued instructions to the officers of the department that the honorarium should be released to the Aaganwadi workers and helpers without any delay.
