JAMMU, Feb 3: The Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at Amandeep Hospital, Pathankot under the leadership of Dr Suresh Kaul organized an ECG workshop, which was attended by physicians, surgeons, general practitioners, nurses, technicians and medical students.
The workshop offered learning feast on Electrocardiogr-aphy, to enhance heart health and correct diagnosis for better patient care. It addressed the needs of nurses, doctors and allied health professionals who encounter ECG in their daily practice.
The workshop provided the participants with skills and knowledge for the interpretation of ECGs and associated clinical abnormalities. It showed how to analyze cardiac rhythm strips including basic and advanced arrhythmias and diagnosing abnormal conditions using ECG patterns. The session was interactive and provided practical examples of ECGs for interpretation to support learning.
Although it was a simulation based workshop, the participants got hands-on experience. The workshop covered not only diagnosis but also management of life-threatening arrhythmias using not just technical skills but also non – technical skills (team-work, situation awareness, leadership abilities, etc.). Course included basics, history of ECG and its relevance in today’s times.
Personalities like Mohit Gupta (GB Pant Hospital, Delhi), Dr Arun Chopra (Fortis Hospital, Amritsar), Dr Nitish Garg (Cardionova Hospital, Jallandhar), Dr Pawan Suri (SGL Hospital, Jallandhar), Dr Suresh Kaul (Amandeep Hospital, Pathankot), Dr Neelam Kaul (Amandeep Hospiatal, Pathankot), Dr Yadwinder Singh (Amandeep Medicity Hospital, Amritsar), Dr Swarup Kumar Pal (Amandeep Medicity Hospital, Amritsar), Dr Vikram (Indus Hospital), Dr Ankit Mahajan (Tagore Hospital, Jallandhar), Dr Shibba (DMC Ludhiana) and Dr Manan Anand (Nayaar Hospital, Amritsar) were the faculty members.
Dr Avtaar Singh, Chairman, Amandeep Group and Dr Shahbaaz Singh, CEO, Amandeep Medicity Hospital, Amritsar were also present on the occasion.
