Bismah takes 5-for; Tanisha, Nadia score fifties as J&K eves blossom

JAMMU, Feb 3: Bismah Hassan scalped 5 important wickets by conceding just 7 runs in her 9 overs, before Nadia Chowdhary and Tanisha Sharma scored brilliant unbeaten half-centuries to help Jammu and Kashmir thrash Arunachal Pradesh by 9 wickets in Women’s Under-13 One Day Trophy at KIIT Cricket Stadium, Bhubneshwar in Odisha.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Arunachal Pradesh scored 127 runs in the stipulated 50 overs by losing 9 wickets. Megha Sahrma top scored with 58 runs while R Rawat contributed 33 runs to the total. From Jammu and Kashmir, Bismah Hassan was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 wickets, while Heena Kouser bagged 2 and Sadiya Wani claimed one.
In reply, J&K chased the target in 32.3 overs by losing 1 wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Opener Nadia Chowdhary scored 51 off 100 balls. Studded with 5 boundaries, while Tanisha Sharma contributed 52 off 90 balls with 6 fours.
The team is being accompanied by Payal Chowdhary as manager, while Neeru Manhas is the coach. Surekha and Chetna Dogra are the trainer and physio respectively.
