POONCH, Jan 25: The police today recovered a minor girl, who was kidnapped by a youth from Mendhar area of district Poonch three days ago.
A police spokesman said that one Bilal Ahmed, son of Mohd Zafar, resident of Ari village, allegedly kidnapped a minor girl hailing from Gohlad village near Mendhar three days ago and left for some unknown place. The parents of the girl lodged an FIR with the Mendhar police.
The police party under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar, Neeraj Padyar and SHO, Insp Tahir Yousuf on the basis of some inputs raided a location near Udhampur today and recovered the girl. The youth, who tried to escape, was also nabbed by police team. They were brought back to Mendhar.
The girl after Medical examination was handed over to the family. Further, investigation was in progress. A case FIR No. 8/ 2020 has been registered in this conection.
Meanwhile, a young girl was kidnapped from Deri Dabsi area of Mendhar by a Sumo driver today. The girl is college student. The police registered a case FIR No. 9/ 2020 against the driver-Mohd Liaqat, son of Mohd Ayub, resident of Deri Dabsi and started investigation.
