Srinagar, Jan 8: Border Roads Organisation has evacuated a patient who had suffered cardiac arrest from Karnah sector of Kupwara district to Srinagar.
Nitin Kumar Joshi, Lt Colonel, Officer Commanding 109 RCC, Project Beacon, said that BRO team received a call from Sub District Magistrate Karnah that a patient with cardiac arrest needed to be evacuated to Srinagar.
Joshi said due to heavy snow accumulation, the patient and his attendants got stranded at Sadhna Pass in Karnah.
He said that BRO team rushed to the spot and evacuated the patient and his attendants to Srinagar.
Joshi said that on Saturday BRO team got another SOS that two bodies along with their relatives were struck in Srinagar and needed to be sent to Karnah, Kupwara for burial.
BRO team facilitated the travel of the stranded people from Kupwara to their native villages Karnah after clearing the road from the snow in this sector by inducting men and machinery to ensure the early passage for the burial of these bodies.
