UDHAMPUR, Dec 27: Panchs and Sarpanchs of block Panchari today began chain hunger strike at the Tehsil office Panchari, under the leadership of Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Panchari block president of All J&K Panchayat Conference.
The hunger strike is being organized to highlight the demands like clearance of Rs one crores liabilities of MGNREGA, increase in salary of Panchs and Sarpanchs, implementation of 73rd Amendment in total as implemented in other States/ Union Territones in India, release Rs 25 lakhs annually of 14FC in every Panchayat for development of rural areas, etc. The chain hunger strike will continue up to December 30, 2019.
“If the Government does l not redress our grievances by the end of this month, All J&K Panchayat Conference will start District level hunger strike in every Districts of the Union Territory, “said Kuldeep Sharma.
Makhna Devi & Seema Sharma (Sarpanchs), Hans Raj, Khajur Singh, Vishwa Devi and many other Panchs and Sarpanchs of block Panchari participated in the chain hunger strike.
