JAMMU, Dec 11: Manavadhikar National Party (MNP) in a meeting today has appealed the Lt Governor G C Murmu to take effective steps in weeding out corruption from UT. The party which held a meeting here in connection with observance of its 10th Foundation Day under the chairmanship of its J&K president, Sanjay Dhar said that the corruption is eating up vitals of the society and the LG should give priority to its eradication from public life to relive the poor people from undue harassment from the hands of corrupt officers and officials.
The party said though lot of change has taken place in the administration after the conversion of J&K State into UT, yet more needs to be done to make administration fully responsive. It demanded implementation of all Central laws in the J&K with implementation of Central labour law strictly. The party demanded security to the border people besides announcement of employment package for them.
The meeting also demanded compensation to over aged migrant youth and rehabilitation of displaced Pandits with honour and dignity in Kashmir valley.
