RAMBAN, Dec 11: Principal Sessions Judge Ramban Kishore Kumar rejected the bail applications of two narcotics smugglers arrested by Ramsu and Banihal Police.
The petitioners, whose bail applications have been rejected, are Jagjeet Singh, son of Gurdev Singh of Ludhiana Punjab and Kuldeep Singh of Malang District Moga Punjab.
The bail applications were moved by the Advocates Tanveer Ahmed and Suraj Singh on the averment that false and frivolous FIRs have been registered at Police Stations Ramsu and Banihal against petitioners.
Public Prosecutor Ishtiyaq Bhati in his argument impressed upon the court that allegations against petitioners are that they are involved in illegal possession of poppy straw.
The police have prima facie proved that the accused were in possession of poppy straw and used to sell the same among younger generations to make them drug addicts.
While rejecting the bail application, Principal Sessions Judge Ramban (Special Judge under NDPS Act) Kishore Kumar observed that the applicants can not be admitted to bail in the heinous and anti social crimes and no ground has been made out by the petitioners for enlarging them on bail.
