J&K Cooperative Union celebrates 66th Cooperative Week

JAMMU, Nov 19: J&K Cooperative Union celebrated 66th Cooperative week at KL Sehgal Hall by organizing a seminar-cum-interaction session today.
JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by Advocate Purnima Sharma (Deputy Mayor, JMC). The program was presided over by Rajesh Sharma, chairman, JK Cooperative Union along with Dr Ranjit S Kotwal (RCS Department) and Rajesh Gupta (chairman, Jammu Tourism Cooperative).
In his address, the JMC Mayor said that both “sehkar” and “sanaskar” are very for building high moral society. He said that new regime of UT has great vision to develop this sector and called for more cooperation in days to come. He also highlighted new projects for development of Jammu city.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Sharma said that after the formation of UT the entire cooperative moment in J&K is to be revisited with fresh prospective and it gives us opportunity to restart new cooperative moment in the Union territory of J&K.
In the seminar, Vikrant Dogra (secretary, JKDCUL) and Tajindar Singh (chairman, Temple Grower Cooperative Limited) laid special emphasis on collaborating with Jammu Municipal Corporation for providing marketing spaces to cooperative doing dairy and floriculture businesses.
Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma assured the meeting that JMC will do its best to provide platform to deserving cooperatives in term of marketing spaces and even give skill development training to individuals who wish to enhance their productivity in receptive fields.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by Karan Singh (BOD, JK Cooperative Union).
GD Bakshi, Raman Suri, Ali Mohd Cheechi (chairman, Kotpunnu MPCL), Nand Kishore Sharma, Inderjit Khajuria, Rajiv Gupta (VC, Chamber of Commerce), Satish Bharti, Darshan Gupta and many more prominent people associated with the cooperative sector also participated in the program.
