2 Gujarat residents among 8 arrested with contraband

UDHAMPUR, Nov 16: Police arrested two Gujarat residents along with 10 kilograms of cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakheni Chowk and intercepted a Hyundai Verna car bearing registration number GJ01KQ-3150.
During checking, police team recovered 10 kilograms of cannabis from the vehicle and arrested the driver and his brother.
The arrested persons were identified as Sheikh Abdul Latief, son of Abdul Satar and Shial Karim Desai, son of Karim Desai, both residents of Ahmedabad Gujarat.
A case under FIR Number 546/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Dr Rohit Chadgal, Additional SP Udhampur Rajinder Singh Katoch and SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey.
Meanwhile, a team from Domana Police Station led by SHO Inspector Chanchal Singh arrested six drug peddlers along with 4.5 grams of heroin and 550 intoxicant capsules from Thathar near Bantalab.
The arrested persons were identified as Sahil Zadoo, son of Bansi Lal Zadoo of Lakshmi Nagar Muthi, Amit Sharma, son of Madan Lal Sharma of Narwal, Himanshu Singh, son of Sumeer Singh of Keran, Vishu Dogra, son of Raj Kumar Dogra of Muthi, Someshwar Singh, son of Harnam Singh of Lower Thathar Bantalab and Vicky Kumar alias Kalia, son of Gareeb Dass of Manyal Brahmana.
A case under FIR Number 396/19 under section 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation initiated.
