SAMBA, Nov 16: The Geology and Mining Department team today visited Ramgarh Sector and seized three vehicles which were involved in illegal mining at Ramgarh in district Samba.
The Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria has imposed 144 CrPC in the river belt to restrict the movement of mining mafia. According to the report, on the directions of the district administration Samba and imposition of Section 144 in river belt, a team of Geology and Mining Department headed by District Mining Officer, Samba, Vishal Dogra along with Sub District Magistrate, Vijaypur visited Ramgarh Sector and found that some vehicles were involved in illegal mining. They swung into action and the team seized three vehicles which were involved in illegal mining in river at Ramgarh and imposed fine to the tune of Rs 48,000 on them.
While talking to media persons, District Mining Officer, Samba Vishal Dogra said that the Department and district administration Samba will not allow such unlawful activities. Many times the Department has warned the mafia against illegal mining. He warned if any person found indulging in illegal mining the Department will take strict action against him under law.
