JAMMU, Mar 12 : A. R. Badana and Nasir Khan, both former Legislators from Kupwara district, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today and presented to him several important development related demands of the area.
The demands presented by the former Legislators included, improvement and upgradation of Chowkibal-Teetwal and Meejyal-Keran roads, conducting on-spot special recruitment drives in Army and the Central Paramilitary Forces at Karnah and Keran for enabling the youth of the area to secure employment, provision of more funds for construction of building and raising other infrastructure for the Army Goodwill School, Hajinar, Karnah, and taking all the other required measures for securing the rapid socio-economic advancement of the Pahari speaking people.
Both the former Legislators also discussed with the Governor various matters relating to the measures which need to be taken for development of the people of the area, particularly those living literally along the border line of the district.
The Governor assured Badana and Khan that the issues raised by them would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
