7 suspects held in raids

JAMMu, Sept 26: Police today conducted simultaneous search operations in Samba, Ramban and Shopian districts and detained seven suspects for questioning.
Though there was no official word by police, reliable sources said that three suspects were detained in Samba district including one from Bari Brahmana and two from Parmandal, two in Ramban and two in Shopian districts.
“All of them were being questioned,” sources said declining to elaborate.
Sources said the detentions were made on specific inputs by police and Intelligence agencies.
All suspects belonged to Kashmir, they said, adding that one of them identified as Imtiyaz Hussain Nengroo of Pulwama was nabbed from Bari Brahmana as he was reported to have received a Voice Call from Pakistan. Aabid and Aamir were detained from Parmandal.
Nengroo was relative of Reyaz Ahmed, who was arrested in Jhajjar Kotli last year while transporting three militants and arms in his truck from Hiranagar to South Kashmir.
Haryana Police was also reported to have conducted raids in Ambala in Haryana and detained some suspects in the same case.
Further investigations were in progress.
