JAMMU, Sept 12: Mata Bhuvaneshori Varshik Hawan was performed at Maha Ragina Seva Sanstha Peeh Janipur near here, today amidst chanting of Vedic hymns.
On this occasion a book on Late Leelawati Saqi Durani’s Leela hymns edited by her daughter Ratni Durani was released. Vedic Guru Jai Krishan Khar read the paper on the book. Ramkrishan Koul a prominent scholar elaborated the contents of the Leela hymns.
H N Thaploo, Maha Gyatri Sewa Sanstha was the chief guest who released the book. Rajesh Khar a well known singer has composed the music of the book. He enthralled the gathering with his melodious voice by singing the bhajans from Leela Hymns.
The proceedings were conducted by Tej Krishan Bhat, vice president of MBAC. It may be recalled that every year MRSSP performs the Varshik Hawan at Mata Bhuvaneshori at Janipur Jammu in addition to Chandpora where MBAC performs the annual hawan. This yearly hawan of Mata Bhuvaneshori was performed by Maha Ragina Seva Sansthan , Peeth Janipur.
The Hawan started yesterday evening and culminated with Puranahuti today which was followed by serving of Prasahd to devotees.
