JAMMU, July 13: One person was killed while another received injuries when a bike on which they were travelling, was hit by an ambulance at Sua No 1.
According to a police official, two unidentified men of age about 28-30 years were travelling on a motorcycle when a an ambulance, which was on its way to Jammu from Akhnoor, hit their two-wheeler at Sua No 1 on Jammu-Akhnoor Road.
He said in the mishap, both the occupants of the bike received serious injuries. “They were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of them was declared as brought dead by the doctors while the condition of other injured person was stated to be stable till the last reports came in,” he added.
The official said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital for identification/postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Kanachak and investigations started. Efforts are also on to nab the absconding ambulance driver, he added.
