Srinagar, May 28: Scores of aspirants today protested against Fire and Emergency Department for allegedly withholding the selection list for last more than 7 years. The aspirants were demanding immediate action with regard to their appointment so that they do not suffer anymore.
The aspirants said that they have appeared in the interview and have even qualified the written examination, but the pace of recruitment is slow and has not taken off for last so many years, thus putting the future of scores of aspirants into jeopardy.
Pertinently, the protesting candidates said that the court, after the recruitment process was stayed, has now instructed the concerned to release the list, but to no avail. They said that the concerned departments are not even budging to get their issues resolved.
“The Court has ordered the Home Department to issue the list, but they seem not be waking up from the deep slumber,” they said, adding “we are now getting over-aged and are suffering because of the non-serious attitude of the authorities.”
The aspirants appealed the Governor, DG Fire and Emergency Department VK Singh, Principal Secretary Home and DGP Dilbag Singh to intervene into the matter and get their issues resolved. “We want the higher-ups to intervene into the matter and save our future from getting into jeopardy; it is the high time after 7 years that the selection list is released,” they said.
Later, the aspirants met DG Fire and Emergency services, who assured all support to redress grievance of aspirants.
