Bovines smuggling attempt foiled, 49 cattle rescued

RAJOURI, May 19: The police foiled a major bovine smuggling bid in district Rajouri and rescued 49 cattle from the possession of smugglers near Rajouri town last night.
Official sources said that a team of police from Rajouri Police Station headed by SHO, Insp Ajaz Haider was on routine patrolling in Darhali bridge area near Rajouri town during early hours on Sunday. He noticed some people carrying bovine animals on- foot.
On this, police team intercepted and rescued 49 bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers. They failed to give any satisfactory reply. Identified as Mohammad Farooq, son of Mohammad Ramzan, resident of Plangarh, Liaqat Ali son of Talib Hussain, resident of Gagrote in Khawas and Talib Hussain, son of Bagh Ali, resident of Tattapani, have been arrested.
In this connection a case FIR No 284/2019 under sections 188/295A RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered in Rajouri Police Station.
