NMC raises demands of pensioners

JAMMU, May 3: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed to the Governor to modify previous Government’s order regarding payment of arrears of 7th Pay Commission in favour of pensioners.
Addressing NMC workers meet here its president, Subash Shastri on Friday said in previous order, a condition was imposed that only those pensioners, who are 80 years old or above, will receive arrears of 7th Pay Commission in one installment.
He said that that this category of pensioners have been paid these arrears in one go.
“Every pensioner’s plight is same, as such pensioners should not be discriminated on the basis of age, sex or service rendered and therefore, the arrears of 7th pay Commission should be paid to all pensioners below 80 years in one go without any delay,” Shastri said.
He urged the Governor, Satya Pal Malik for making necessary changes in previous Government’s order besides releasing pending arrears in favour of pensioners in one installment.
He further appealed to Governor’s administration to enhance medical allowance of pensioners and employees to Rs 1000 per month, release all pending wages of daily wagers besides amendment in SRO 520 and enhancing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 500 per day etc.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Ram Singh, Paramjit and others were also present on this occasion.
