JAMMU, Feb 19: A youth was injured in mysterious firing at village Bajwal in Sunderbani area of Rajouri district late this evening.
The injured Sanjay Kumar was son of a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member Kasturi Lal.
SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi said the boy sustained gun shot in his hand. After preliminary treatment at Sunderbani Hospital, the boy was referred to Government Medical College, Jammu.
Ruling out involvement of militants in the firing saying there were no militants present in the area, Mr Latifi, however, said all angles were being investigated in the case. As father of the boy was a VDC member, there was also possibility of an accidental fire or a scuffle.
He said a case has been registered at Sunderbani police station for further investigations.
