JAMMU, Apr 12: Ex-servicemen of Towering Twelfth Dogra Regiment discussed their problems and demands during a meeting held today at Devsthan of Bawa Jitto at Bawe-da-Talab.
The meeting was organized by Captain RS Manhas (retired) and was attended by over 100 ex-servicemen including Officers, JCOs and Jawans of Towering Twelfth of Dogra Regiment, who were drawn from various parts of Jammu region including Doda, Udhamur, Rajouri, Kathua and Jammu districts.
During the meeting, the ex-servicemen discussed various problems being faced by them, Veer Naris and their dependents regarding ECHS facilities, educational facilities for their children, scholarships to their wards and financial aid for daughters’ marriage. They also demanded that some seats in engineering and medical colleges should be reserved for wards of ex-servicemen.
The ex-servicemen also interacted with each other and refreshed their past memories. They also decided to help the needy among them including Veer Naris by way of contribution. The meeting concluded with lunch and a resolve to meet once in a year to discuss each other’s problems.
