Clerical cadre criticizes Govt for backtracking from agreements

JAMMU, Feb 11: A joint meeting of representatives of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association was held under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik, senior vice president of the Association here, today in which the State Government’s attitude for deliberately backtracking from its previous commitments was criticized.
The meeting was also addressed by Khurshid Ahmed Dewani, Javed Ahmed Akhoon, Bharat Bhushan, Madam Sangral, Seva Ram Rathore, Tasho Choswal, Yashpal, Sanjay Dhar, Vikas Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Udey Singh Pathania and Meenakshi Sharma.
They said that the agreement made with employees leaders in March 2008, February 2009, May 2010 and September 2011 where in it was promised to fulfill the demands has not been kept by the Government.
Mr Malik appealed all the State Government employees to attend one day Jammu chalo convention on February 13 at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha the call of which was given by EJAC (R) & JKSRTC Union jointly. In the convention the burning demands of the employees will be discussed and the future course of action will be announced, he added.
The meeting demanded removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and reorganization of the cadre, regularization of daily wagers, enhancement of retirement age to 60, increase of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month, reduction of qualifying service to 21 years, sanction of 10 percent Dislocation Allowance and 12.5 percent Special Allowance in favour of Ladakh region employees.
The Association also criticized the Government for giving step motherly treatment to clerical cadre.
