JAMMU, Feb 3: Asha Kiran Welfare Society (AKWS) Janipur, Jammu organised 10th Foundation Day at Bab Lal Ji Temple Hall, Janipur, here today.
ID Soni, President Old Age Home and Infirm was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Romesh Gupta, Ex Medical Superintendent of Super Speciality Hospital Jammu was the guest of honour.
The function started with on presentation of National Anthem by the students of Govt Girls Middle School Janipur Colony, which was followed by lighting of lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Sarswati Vandhana was presented by the Sadikas of Bhartiya Yog Sansthan-Kusum Bakshi and her team.
A variety of cultural items and patriotic songs were presented by the students on the occasion.
Merit and cash awards of Rs 1000, Rs 700 and Rs 500 each were distributed among 24 students of Govt Girls Middle and High Schools of Janipur Colony, who stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective classes from Class 5th to 9th.
A financial aid of Rs 400 each was provided to three widows by the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr Vikrant Sharma, Vice President of Society highlighted the activities of the Scoiety.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest threw light on ‘Karma’ Philosophy and emphasised that everyone should come forward for helping needy.
The guest of honour appreciated the activities of the Scoiety, while JP Gupta, Chairman of the Society appealed the participants for helping the Society both physically and financially, before presenting vote of thanks.
