JAMMU, Jan 21: The dead body of an unknown woman was found hanging this morning from a tree in Floriculture Park, here at Indra Chowk.
“The woman was later identified as Gharo Devi (58) wife of Rajpal, resident of Bishnah,” a police official said. He said the woman was a psychiatric patient and was missing since yesterday.
The official said body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem. Prima facie it appears that the woman committed suicide, he said, adding inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in this connection at police station Bus Stand.
