JAMMU, Oct 28: A Constable of J&K police was killed today when a tractor turned turtle near Kangar Morh in Bhalwal tehsil of Jammu.
“The mishap occurred today at about 5 PM when the cop identified as Swarn Singh (Belt No 1342/J) son of Tara Singh, resident of Chak (Gharota) was driving his tractor trolley towards his home”, a police official said, adding, the accident occurred due to a strong jerk when the hook connecting trolley to the tractor suddenly broke.
In the mishap, Swarn Singh received serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The deceased cop was posted with flying squad of police station Gharota.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Gharota and investigations started.
