JAMMU, Oct 26: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Unit Jammu arrested 2 persons along with around 40 kilograms of cannabis.
As per official spokesman, on specific information, a team from NCB Zonal Unit Jammu laid a naka near Wave Mall and intercepted a Scorpio car.
During checking, police seized 39.346 kilograms of cannabis concealed in the special cavities made in the car and arrested two persons.
On initial questioning, the arrested persons revealed that the origin of the consignment was Kashmir and it was destined to Mumbai, spokesman added.
He informed that the arrested persons will be produce in the Court in Jammu and further NCB remand will be taken.
“As revealed by the arrested persons that the origin of the drug was Kashmir Valley and it was destined to Mumbai, it has been clearly evident that cannabis and other contraband are being trafficked to other parts of the country from Kashmir Valley and all the means of transport are being used such as light vehicle, taxis, trains and trucks”, the spokesman added.
He said that the NCB Zonal Unit Jammu and other enforcement agencies have launched their drives actively against the drug traffickers in the area during the year 2018 and affected a lot of seizures of narcotics, adding that 8 seizures of cannabis and 2 big seizures of heroin were affected by the unit till date in this year.
