Workshop on ‘Healthy Ways to Lose Weight’ concludes

JAMMU, Oct 24: A workshop organized on “Healthy Ways to Lose Weight” by Dr Gurmeet Gujral’s Weight Management and Lifestyle Clinic concluded here today.
In the workshop, people from almost all walks of life including doctors, entrepreneurs, students, home-makers, teachers and other Professionals participated.
While speaking, Dr Gurmeet Gujral started with explaining different foods (Satvic, Rajsic and Tamsic) to help everyone choose the food correctly. She also explained the logic of selection of ‘Foods’ that our ancestors ate.
She explained the causes of obesity and its ill effects on human body and mind.
She cautioned the uninformed choices people sometime make about various fad diets available in the market like Keto, Low Carb, High Protein, Paleo etc and if such diets are taken without prescription of a professional can cause serious health issues, nutritional imbalance, weakness and other deficiencies.
Dr Gujral informed about the various common diseases like PCOD, Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Thyroid, Blood Pressure, Infertility and cancer caused due to wrong diet and life style habits.
She explained very easy formula to measure calories from day to day food in a very interesting method which even a layman understands and can use for self help.
She gave very easy to follow and understand tips to lose weight, right from setting very realistic goals to avoiding calorie dense foods and liquid calories to recommending fiber rich food. She also emphasized on making very small and easy correction in life style to get good results for healthy and long lasting happy life.
