RAMBAN, Oct 24: Ukhral police arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ukhral Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under mysterious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 52 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Bansi Lal, son of Sukh Ram, a resident of Balote, District Ramban.
The accused was carrying the illicit liquor to his native village for selling among the masses to make illegitimate profits.
It is pertinent to mention here that about a week before, SSP Ramban Anita Sharma visited the area and assured the public of weeding out all social evils from the society and they were requested to be eyes and ears of police in this process.
Police team led by Incharge Ukhral Police Post Mukhtiyar Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Ramsoo Inspector Naveen Angral, SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar SDPO, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
