SRINAGAR, Oct 16: Dr Rafiq Ahmad Mir, Professor and Head of the Community Medicine Department, SKIMS Medical College/Hospital Bemina Srinagar passed away today at Medanta Gurgoan after a brief illness.
A SKIMS spokesman said that the Administration, Faculty, staff and students were shocked and expressed deep sympathies towards the family.
He said the deceased was the most popular teacher among students for his efficiency and dedication. “On the Administrative front, he was leading many Important College Committees and has played a vital role in the upliftment of SKIMS Medical College/Hospital by his sincere and meticulous approach towards the issues. He was a Nobel professional and social worker par excellence,” he said
Meanwhile, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College (GMC) to mourn the demise of Dr Rafiq Ahmad Mir.
