PRF for starting work on New Ganderbal Power Project

JAMMU, Sept 30: A delegation of Peoples Revolutionary Forum (PRF) a Civil Society called on Advisor to Governor at Central Kashmir district Ganderbal today and demanded that the work of New Ganderbal Hydel Project be started immediately.
The delegation which was led by the president of the Forum, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani said that for last two decades after the acquisition of land for the project the State Government has failed to start the work on the 100 MW power project despite announcements were made several times.
The delegation also expressed concern over shortage of doctors in District Hospital Ganderbal leading to problems to patients who have to approach Soura Medical Institute or GMC Srinagar for treatment.
It demanded that attention be paid to promotion of horticulture in Wakura tehsil of Ganderbal district with opening of a fruit preservation centre and cold storage in the area.
The delegation also demanded opening of Central University campus at Ganderbal, upgradation of Wakura PHC, converting Butwani PHC into Model Hospital, providing power and telephone hot line supplies to hospitals, grant of tehsil status to Sherpathri and block status to Butwani, sanction of Women Degree College in Ganderbal and bringing the Khanpora Sar, Waskura Sar and Ahansar under Manasbal Development Authority.
The other members of delegation were Sheikh Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shilvati, Abdul Razak Dar, Ghulam Ahmed Mir.
