Jattu elected president of GMPS

JAMMU, Sept 9: Ganesh Mandir Prabhandhak Samiti, (GMPS), Vinayak Bhawan Ganpatyar, Srinagar in its elections here, today elected senior KP leader, H N Jattu as its president. U K Handoo was elected as senior vice president, B L Jalali as vice president of the Samiti while B L Raina was elected as general secretary.
S K Pandit was elected as joint secretary media and Cultural activities and R K Chrangoo as joint secretary.
Samiti in a handout said that there is a provision of nominating four Executive members from the KP community who have not migrated from Srinagar. It further said as none of the non migrants contested the recently held elections and the four seats are still vacant which will be filled up if volunteered by any one as per the Constitution of the Samiti.
The Samiti said that the management has decided to go for massive repairs, renovation and refurbishing along with necessary expansion. Besides, it also plans to construct a Yatri Bhawan to facilitate the pilgrims for their stay etc.
In this regard the Samiti has also decided to formulate various Sub Committees to restore the grace and grandeur of this internationally known shrine.
