JAMMU, Dec 30: Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta MLA and Leader of the opposition launched the book “Transforming Indians to Transform India”, an initiative of Chinmaya Mission.
On this occasion, Brahma-chari Suvir Chaitanya from Chinmaya Mission gave a presentation regarding the objective of the quiz competition based on this book. “It is only by transforming the Indian that we can hope of a better India’’ he added.
The objectives of Chinmaya Mission was also highlighted. It was shared with the audience that Chinmaya Mission has more than 300 branches across the world, runs more than 80 schools and 2 Colleges. The ‘Chinmaya Organization for the Rural Development’ (CORD) is helping the rural people in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh, by focusing attention on Women Empowerment, Child Care, Self Group etc.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta praised the good work being done by the Chinmaya Mission and extended his full support to establish a branch of Chinmaya Mission in Jammu as well as for supporting the various programs of the Chinmaya Mission. In addition to others, a large number of Rotarians namely Dr. Dushyant Chaudhry, Prem Shankar, Pradeep Jain, Sanjeev Vaid, Rajinder Kapoor, A S Modi, Bhaskaran Anil, Keval Gupta, D N Sharma, Romesh Badyal attended the function held in Rotary Bhavan Jammu.
