JAMMU, Sept 1: Dr Ranjit Singh, Senior Joint Replacement Surgeon, has achieved an unmatchable milestone of performing 500 successful knee replacement surgeries with ‘Zero Error Technique’ in Fortis Hospital, Amritsar.
Dr Ranjit Singh, an excellence award holder, has pioneered this innovative technique which has shown remarkable results and compliance in patients. In a short span of time in Fortis Hospital Amritsar, Dr Singh has proved his caliber beyond doubt with his unique surgical skills.
Dr Singh has a great vision as well as administrative and explanatory acumen. By inventing this ‘Zero Error Technique’ he has provided freedom to his patients from pain and agony of knee surgery. Post surgery, the patients are able to perform most of the daily activities without any difficulty.
Apart from being awarded with ‘Award of Excellence’ for his contribution to the field of knee replacement, he is serving the society with his regular OPDs and camps in remote areas like Rajouri, Ferozepur, Abohar, Pathankot, Muktsar, etc.
Earlier, he worked with Shalby Hospitals, Ahmedabad and his special training includes many international and national fellowships and certificates in total & partial knee replacements. Till date, he has done more than 6000 successful knee surgeries.
Dr Ranjit is the first surgeon to introduce Partial Knee Replacement in Amritsar. Those patients who are suffering from severe knee pain but are scared of ‘Total Knee Replacement’, ‘Partial Knee Replacement’ is an excellent option, as it is a minimally invasive procedure with a 5 cm cut and the patient is discharged next day after surgery.
In Partial Knee Replacement, there is minimal bone and tissue cutting as only the damaged part of the knee is replaced, in contrast to Total Knee Replacement where the whole of the knee is replaced. Dr Singh has taken special training for this surgery in various European countries.
