Mankotia for early release of land compensation

UDHAMPUR, Aug 28: Raising the plight of farmers, former MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia demanded early release of land compensation in favour of aggrieved farmers whose agriculture land has been acquired by the Army.
In a meeting of Panthers Kissan Council, NPP president informed that one day hunger strike would be held on August 30 at Udhampur by the NPP workers with farmers who have provided their agriculture land to Army.
Mankotia warned the concerned authorities that if in coming days compensation would not be released they will also knock the door of Court. Mankotia claimed that being owner of thousands Kanal land, condition of family have forced them to live like a beggar and their wards have become labourers due to non-payment of land compensation despite raising the issue many time with leaders and concerned officials of the Government.
On this occasion, Sanjay Sharma Panthers Kissan Council Tehsil president disclosed that in coming days, committees would be constituted in every nook and corner of Udhampur.
A large number of aggrieved famers including S. Balwant Singh, Master Chuni Lal, Naib Sarpanch Jagdish Chander, Babu Ram, Mohan Lal attended the meeting.
