2 hurt after clash among truck union members

KATHUA, May 2: Two truckers were injured during clash between some rival truck union members at Govindsar, near Hatli Morh in Kathua today.
A police spokesman said that problem took place after members of two rival truck unions of the town had heated exchanges over the issue of loading of trucks and allotment of trip to the vehicles. Both the sides freely exchanged sharp edged weapons besides kicks and blows in full public view. Two persons were injured and they were admitted to District Hospital, Kathua.
The injured have been identified as Amarjit Singh and Manvinder Singh of Sakta Chak in Kathua. The police said that an FIR No. 160/2012 U/S 147/323/504/506 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused persons. It said one local Congress leader (district general secretary) was also involved in this case. The police parties were said to be conducting raids to nab the accused persons. No arrest was reported till late this evening.
