Sir,
India is a democratic and secular country. The constitution of India guarantees equal rights for all its citizens. There is no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed and colour. Today, the world has come to be regarded as a single community, though various countries may differ on many counts from each other. Here in India electoral politics, a great aspect of democracy provides a platform for corruption to grow. Political parties go to any extent to gather votes and they do not mind playing the card of caste based politics to come to power.
Here the fundamental basis of democracy, universal adult franchise, is sometimes denied to people. Vote bank politics has become an essential feature of Indian politics. Here political parties kindle communal passions and caste-based divisions to capture the votes of a particular section. This clearly reflects the mind-set of our poliicians. Polarisation takes place and social set up goes fragmented and weakened. In this way, the political milieu becomes such that honest people often do not venture to enter the arena. Most politicians are least bothered about the country’s unity and prosperity but stand concerned about their personal gains. Caste-based politics will defile our democracy and unless the whole milieu is changed as well as cleaned then only our nation would thrive. For all round progress of the country it is necessary to take every section along and help it grow to its maximum potential. Here education is the key which alone can be a solution to multiple issues that we confront today.
