One held with fake currency worth Rs 41500

RAJOURI, July 18: The Police arrested a man along with fake currency worth Rs 41500 in Kandi area of  Rajouri  district today.
The accused has been identified as Altaf Hussain, son of Nazir Hussain, a  resident of Muradpur near Rajouri.
Reports said a police naka team from Police Station Kotranka,  headed by SHO Kandi Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of  DySP Operation Sukhdev Singh laid a Naka at Jaglanoo,  Kandi  and  during routine frisking  a pedestrian was seen coming from some distance. He, however, soon after noticing the police Naka, started to move back which developed suspicion and cops chased and nabbed him at some distance.
During frisking, some cash and other personal belongings were recovered from his possession.  During the initial investigation, it was found that   currency notes of  500 and 200 denominations, recovered from him,  were  fake. He was arrested and fake currency was also seized.
A case FIR No. 87/2018 U/S 489 (B) RPC has been registered against the accused and further questioning is going on  to nab other people involved in fake currency marketing in Rajouri area.
