One killed, 7 injured in road mishap; young woman found dead in canal

UDHAMPUR, July 16: A young woman died and seven others of a family from Jammu were injured when their Swift car was hit by an Army vehicle near Tikri while a newly married woman was found dead in canal near Power House, Udhampur.
According to the police reports, a Swift car bearing registration number JK02BQ-0267, on its way from Udhampur to Jammu was hit by Army bus near FCI Store at Tikri. Police shifted the injured to District Hospital Udhampur where one of them, namely Meenali Gupta (25), wife of Sunil Gupta, succumbed to her injuries.
Three injured persons were identified as Dev Raj (52) of Akhnoor, his wife Sudesh Kumari (50), their son Sunil Gupta (26), daughter Tanisha Gupta (21), Taksvi Gupta (6 month) daughter of Sunil, Sakshi Gupta (22), wife of Deepak Kumar and Harshini Gupta (9 month) daughter of Deepak Kumar, all of Paloura Jammu.
Meanwhile, Police today recover dead body of newly married women from canal near Power House.
The deceased was identified as Kavita Devi (21), wife of Ajay Singh of Thandar, Tehsil Chenani, The body was spotted by some locals who informed the Police.
