Two arrested for running drugs cartel, heroin worth Rs 75 lakh recovered

JAMMU, July 13: Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two persons for running drugs cartel and recovered 750 grams heroin worth Rs 75 lakh from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station intercepted two persons, who were trying to escape on seeing police cops.
During checking, police recovered 750 grams heroin valuing Rs 75 lakh from the possession of the two persons and nabbed them.
The accused have been identified as Tariq Ahmed Malla, son of Ghulam Mohammad Malla of District Kupwara and Mohammad Hussain, son of Abdul Gani Wani of Battpora, District Shopian.
During initial investigation, it came to fore that the consignment was likely to be distributed among the youth in Jammu District by the accused, but police foiled their bid.
A case under FIR Number 41/18 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bus Stand Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP South Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
