Dozens of mines explode as fire spreads on LoC

POONCH, May 25: Dozens of explosions of land mines caused panic along the LoC in Mankote sub sector of Mendhar after forest fire spread over 2-3 sq km area late this evening.
Official sources said that forest fire along the Line of Control in Mankote area spread during evening. It went on spreading in the adjoining areas also. Then the land mines started exploding and dozens of explosions created panic in the entire area. The mine blasts were going on when the last reports came in and the Army authorities sounded alert sensing intrusion of militants from that side of the fence.
