POONCH, Apr 17: The dead body of a missing young villager was recovered from the forest area of Banola in Mendhar Sub Division today.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Azad Parvez, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Chhatral. He was missing for the last two days. A villager noticed his body lying in the bushes in Banola forest area at around 8.30 am today and informed the locals. The family members also arrived there. They later reported the matter to Mendhar police.
The police party shifted the dead body to PHC Chhatral and as there was no ambulance at the PHC, the family had to shift the body in a hired private vehicle. After postmortem the body was later handed over to the family for last rites.
The police said that a sickle and bottle of insecticide was lying near the dead body of the youth. No injury marks were visible on the body. Inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated by police in this connection. The family claimed that it was a case of murder and demanded thorough investigation into it.
About non-availability of ambulance at the PHC, Chhatral the SDM, Dr Tanveer Ahmed Khan assured an inquiry onto the matter. The locals said that MLA had provided new ambulance few months back to the local PHC but it was later shifted to some other station.
