Eight injured as bus turns turtle

JAMMU, Mar 20: Eight passengers were injured today when a bus turned turtle in Kanachak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding mini-bus bearing registration number JK02J-9857, which was on its way from Jammu to Akhnoor this morning, turned turtle near Deharan on Jammu-Akhnoor Road due to alleged negligence of the driver of the vehicle.
He said that eight passengers of the bus suffered injuries in the mishap and were shifted to Primary Health Centre, Mishriwala for treatment. Later, all of them were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
The injured passengers were identified as Somnath (60) son of Taru ram of Rambagh (Kullian), Rattan Lal (54) son of Garu Ram of Chakmalal, Bishambar Dass (56) son of Chajju Ram of Sainik Colony age, Sushma Devi (48) wife of Bachan Lal of Mandlik Nagar (Paloura) and her daughter, Sarita Devi (18), Darshana Devi (50) wife of Attar Singh of Akalpur, and Sohan Lal (22) son of Puppa Ram and Jatinder Kumar (40) son of Khubi Ram, both residents of Sungal (Akhnoor).
In this connection, a case had been registered at police station Kanachak and investigations started.
