BGSBU gets 2nd place in ‘P2P: Challenging Extremism’

JAMMU, Feb 1: School of Management Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), got 2nd place in P2P: Challenging Extremism Program, organized by Edventure Partners and sponsored by NESA, United States, for the fall semester 2017.
The BGSBU  team secured the  2nd place in  the recently held event at Hyatt Regency Delhi.  BGSBU was  among many other reputed universities, which  participated in the program.
After returning from Delhi,  the team visited the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat and had an interaction with VC Prof Javed Musarrat. Registrar of the university,  Prof  Iqbal Parwez,
Prof Naseem Ahmed,  Dean of the School,  other Deans,  Heads,   officers and official of the university were also present during the interaction.
During the interaction,  Prof Musarrat said that such a success will inspire the young generation to think, act and achieve for the betterment of society as a whole.
Danish Iqbal Raina Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies led the team. The other team members included  PZ Naseem Ahmed, Faisal Faheem, Rehana Rafi, Ulfat Andrabi and  Aaqib Mabool from the  Department of Management Studies.
The Team worked for the promotion of peace, harmony and brotherhood through social and technical interventions by involving the youth through debates, symposiums, discussion and many such programs. The theme of their campaign was  “We Are One” with the slogan ” Let us celebrate the diversity”. The team has an active Facebook Page #weAreOne.
Apart from the citation,  the team got a cash prize of 1500 US Dollars. Besides, the representatives from NESA United States, a galaxy of intellectual from various spheres of life were present during the event at Delhi.
