Army conducts Inter Tehsil Volleyball Competition

Rajouri, Dec 20: In the series of projects being undertaken for constructive engagement of youth, Army conducted an Inter Tehsil Volleyball Competition at Thanamandi, which concluded today.
The teams from five tehsils namely Thanamandi, Darhal, Kotranka, Rajouri and Manjakote participated in this tournament.  The aim of the competition was to promote the culture of sports amongst youth in the remote and inaccessible areas of J&K.
The mega sporting event culminated on December 20, 2017 with an exciting final match at Thanamandi.
The final match of the tournament was played between Darhal Club and Baba Sports, Thanamandi in which Darhal Club won the tournament.
The winner and runners-up teams were awarded with cash prizes alongwith trophy and medals.
The players and the villagers were enthusiastic about the event and turned up in large number.
Army has been conducting various sports tournaments to give opportunity to aspiring youths striving for a platform in the field of sports and to promote sports and physical activities amongst the young generation.
On the occasion, Army applauded the youth for their efforts and encouraged them to make the best use of such opportunities.
