KISHTWAR, Dec 19: Former Minister and National Conference MLC, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said that realization is fast dawning upon progressive, forward-looking and peace-loving people to isolate divisive forces and work for strengthening the bonds of amity and brotherhood in a pluralistic State like Jammu and Kashmir.
“The people are rejecting those believing in politics of hate and understand that reactionary political pursuits can only lead to chaos and crisis, which the State is currently witnessing”, Kichloo said.
Kichloo who concluded the extensive tour of the Dachhan area along with senior party functionaries today expressed concern over various problems being faced by the people; especially those living in remote and far-off areas and feared that sadistic delay in addressing these will further alienate the dejected masses and create a scenario that will be difficult to tackle.
“We sincerely hope good sense to prevail upon those in authority so that the State is steered out of the prevailing morass”, he said.
“National Conference has a track record of maintaining peace and tranquility even in adverse situations and during most testing times”, he said and asserted that the party will continue to play its assigned role. The regional unity and communal harmony will continue to guide the cadre, he said adding that public welfare has all along been its focused agenda.
Speaking on the occasion, former legislator Qazi Jalal-ud-Din exhorted the people to strengthen NC, saying that this party is the only answer to prevailing grim scenario in the State. Jalal decried the PDP-BJP dispensation for cheating the people and failing in meeting their genuine aspirations. He said the state is facing a crisis like situation with development having been pushed to the back-burner.
