Srinagar, Dec 17: Police today said that it have apprehended several culprits involved in the illegal abortion and saved a girl from being aborted at South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A police spokesman said that police received an information that one person namely Ishtiyaq Ahmad Bhat along with a pregnant girl have gone to house of Ghulam Hassan Shah at Malpora Mohalla in Kulgam in order to illegally abort the pregnancy, where one lady (name withheld) perform such illegal abortions.
“On receiving this information, police along with Magistrate raided the place. During search of the house, Government supply medicines and surgical items required for the abortion purpose were recovered. The culprits involved were apprehended on the spot. A case under FIR number 232/2017 under Sections 376, 312, 511RPC, 08 Nursing Act was registered and investigation started,” he added.
